Kensington is located in Montgomery County, Maryland, approximately thirty-five miles southwest of Baltimore and ten miles north of Washington, D. C. Founded by developer Brainard Warner as Kensington Park in the early 1890s, the town’s name was changed to Kensington upon incorporation in 1894.
Kensington offers a delightful array of opportunities for shopping, dining, recreation, and entertainment that are sure to please residents and visitors alike! At the top of everyone’s shopping list is Antique Row, a diverse assemblage of antique shops, vintage bookstores, florists, gift emporiums, salons, and eating establishments located along Howard Avenue East and adjacent streets.
